Elżbieta Glinka: the 33-year-old civil engineer who made the European Championships

Elżbieta Glinka, a 33-year-old civil engineer, finished 12th in the 10,000 m at the European Championships in Birmingham in one of her first major appearances in the Polish national kit. She had previously won the European Cup. Glinka only recently stepped back from her professional career to focus on competitive running.
