Trump's rollback of Roadless Rule threatens US wilderness and wildlife
The Trump administration is proposing to roll back the 2001 Roadless Rule, which protects roughly 5% of the contiguous US from road construction. Among the areas at risk is Alaska's Tongass National Forest, home to eagles, bears and salmon in old-growth coastal forest. Environmentalists warn the move would disrupt wildlife habitats and water resources.
