Congo Ebola epidemic spreading 18 times faster than deadliest outbreak on record

The Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo has already killed more than 2,500 people. The UN coordinator for the outbreak warned that the virus is spreading exponentially — 18 times faster than the deadliest outbreak on record. The existing pool of emergency funds is set to run out within weeks, raising fears of an uncontrolled surge.
