Severe storms batter Poland — nearly 2,000 fire brigade call-outs

Violent storms swept across Poland, flooding streets and properties, felling trees, tearing off roofs and leaving tens of thousands of homes without power. Fire services recorded nearly 2,000 call-outs, with the highest number in the Mazovia region. Weather warnings from Poland's IMGW meteorological institute remain in force in parts of the country.
