"Serendipity" gets a modern reimagining for Amazon MGM Studios

Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax are developing a new version of "Serendipity", the 2001 romantic comedy starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale that grossed over $77 million. The project is described as a "contemporary variation" rather than a remake or reboot. Michael Showalter, director of "The Big Sick" and "Something Borrowed", will helm the film.
