Morocco claims Ceuta and Melilla — Madrid rejects the demand

Morocco's government has put forward territorial claims over the Spanish exclaves of Ceuta and Melilla in North Africa. Ceuta has been gripped by a migration crisis since late July, fuelled by Moroccan border authorities allowing tens of thousands of migrants to cross illegally. Madrid has rejected its neighbour's claims. The dispute is deepening diplomatic tensions between the two countries.
