Gibraltar border fence demolished after EU-UK deal signed on 15 July 2026

Under an agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom signed on 15 July 2026, the famous La Verja border fence separating Spain from Gibraltar was demolished. Gibraltar's residents rank among the world's highest earners, in stark contrast to their significantly poorer Spanish neighbours.
