Pentagon fires Stars and Stripes journalists for alleged insubordination

The Pentagon has fired the publisher, editor-in-chief and a reporter of the independent U.S. military newspaper "Stars and Stripes." The journalists say they were dismissed for insubordination following a high-profile interview. Editor Erik Slavin had previously warned that censoring a military newspaper would cross a "red line." The case has raised fresh concerns about press freedom within U.S. armed forces.
