Polish law sets no minimum requirements for identity verification when customers call a telecoms helpline, leaving each operator to decide what data is sufficient. In some cases, a PESEL number and a few basic details are enough to access an account. Security experts warn that this gap leaves customers highly vulnerable to cybercriminals impersonating them.
