Madison Keys out of Cincinnati — Świątek avoids dangerous rival ahead of semifinal

Iga Świątek advanced to the WTA 1000 Cincinnati semifinal after Jelena Rybakina retired from their match. Before Świątek takes the court again, Madison Keys — the Australian Open champion — was eliminated in a thrilling three-set quarterfinal. Keys will therefore not be a potential opponent for Świątek in the race for the title.
