TikTok to pay $400 million to settle child privacy lawsuit

TikTok has agreed to pay $400 million to settle a U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit over child privacy violations. The DoJ acknowledged that the app has made significant improvements to its privacy protections since the 2024 lawsuit was filed. The settlement is among the largest ever in a child online privacy case.
