DOJ investigates Andreessen Horowitz over board seats at competing companies
The US Department of Justice has reportedly been investigating venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz for nearly a year over two of its partners sitting on the boards of competing companies: Ben Horowitz at Databricks and Martin Casado at Fivetran. The probe invokes a 112-year-old antitrust law that is rarely applied to venture capital firms. The companies were not necessarily direct competitors when a16z first invested in them.
