Deputy Finance Minister: tax authority has no informal quota for fines

Reports of informal fine quotas for tax inspectors at Poland's National Revenue Administration (KAS) emerged after a Gdańsk pizzeria was fined. Deputy Finance Minister Zbigniew Stawicki clarified that employee performance is assessed using a broad set of indicators, not the number of fines issued. He also released data on the number of test purchases, customs-tax inspections and fine proceedings carried out by KAS.
