Italy crushed Croatia 25:9 in the first set but then had a scare at the European Championship
On the opening day of the Women's European Volleyball Championship, tournament favourites Italy faced Croatia. After demolishing the first set 25:9, Italy struggled significantly in the following two sets, nearly allowing Croatia to pull off a major upset. The Italians ultimately won the match 3:0 but not without a scare.
