Waymo doubles lobbying spend in robotaxi battle against Uber
Waymo, owned by Alphabet, spent over $1 million lobbying the US federal government between April and June — more than double its outlay a year earlier. The company is pushing for faster approval of fully driverless commercial services, while Uber advocates a gradual rollout alongside human drivers. Waymo's spending now rivals Uber's and far exceeds that of competitors such as Amazon's Zoox and Tesla.
