Syrians return after Assad's fall — many are already planning to leave again

Nearly 3.6 million Syrians have returned home since the fall of al-Assad, only to find destroyed homes, a dysfunctional bureaucracy, frequent power cuts and wages far below what they earned abroad. Some returnees are attempting to rebuild their lives, while others are already making plans to emigrate again. The reality in post-Assad Syria has proven far more complicated than many had hoped.
