China orders Tesla and 8 others to recall EVs over retractable door handle safety flaw

China's automotive regulator has ordered Tesla and eight other carmakers to recall vehicles over a safety flaw involving retractable door handles, which made it difficult for occupants to exit electric cars after crashes. It is described as China's biggest-ever car recall. The order follows incidents where drivers and passengers were unable to open doors from inside following collisions.
