Coldcard releases firmware update after $114 million bitcoin theft
Hardware wallet maker Coldcard has shipped a new firmware update following a three-week code audit triggered by a flaw that allowed thieves to steal $114 million in bitcoin. The review uncovered additional bugs unrelated to the original exploit, with the company crediting AI tools for catching more issues. Coldcard warns, however, that the update does not make an already-compromised wallet safe — affected users must move their funds to a new wallet.
