Duda vetoes "lex charlatan" — six consequences for patient protection

President Andrzej Duda has refused to sign the so-called "lex charlatan" bill, which would have given Poland's Patient Rights Ombudsman new tools to combat providers of unverified and dangerous therapies. Dr Michał Sutkowski, speaking on TVN24, called the decision "very saddening." The veto means that those promoting pseudoscientific treatments will continue to face limited regulatory pushback.
