Pellet prices double in August, leaving households without heating fuel
Pellet prices in Poland have in some cases doubled in August, creating serious problems for households that rely on the fuel for heating. Agnieszka Kędziora-Urbanowicz, vice-president of the Polish Pellet Council, warns that the situation is not just a temporary price spike but a threat to the security and resilience of the entire biomass market. People who invested in pellet stoves, encouraged to switch to "eco-friendly heating", are now struggling to stock up ahead of winter.
