DRC Ebola outbreak: nearly 5,000 cases and over 2,000 deaths in 100 days

Since 15 May, the Democratic Republic of Congo has recorded nearly 5,000 Ebola cases and more than 2,000 deaths, making it the deadliest outbreak in the country's history. The epidemic is caused by the Bundibugyo strain and will reach the 100-day mark on 23 August. Health experts warn it could become the world's largest Ebola outbreak if not contained.
