Finance Ministry seeks law change after losing tax cases over share sales in converted companies

Polish courts have been ruling in favour of shareholders who sell shares in converted companies, allowing them to deduct costs on more favourable terms than the tax authority accepts. The Finance Ministry disagrees with this interpretation and is now proposing an amendment to change the rules. If passed, the amendment would worsen tax conditions for shareholders selling shares after a company conversion.
