Polish Labour Inspectorate: work conditions, not contract name, determine employment status
From 8 July, Poland's State Labour Inspectorate gained new powers to reclassify civil-law contracts — including B2B agreements and commission contracts — as employment contracts. Inspectors assess the actual conditions of work, not the label on the contract; if the arrangement resembles salaried employment, it can be converted. The change affects hundreds of thousands of Poles working under civil-law arrangements.
