African migrant smuggling to Europe: traffickers reap millions as migrants face rejection
Despite having virtually no legal basis to stay in countries such as Switzerland, the number of African migrants attempting illegal entry into Europe is not falling. Smuggling networks reap enormous profits from moving people across borders, involving a wider criminal ecosystem beyond the traffickers themselves. One migrant quoted in the report openly stated he intended to steal and deal drugs to survive in Europe.
