Rybakina retires injured in Cincinnati — Sabalenka stays WTA world No. 1

Jelena Rybakina retired from her Cincinnati WTA 1000 quarter-final against Iga Świątek after just five games of the first set due to an Achilles tendon problem. As a result, Aryna Sabalenka will retain the world No. 1 ranking after the tournament. Świątek advances to the semi-finals, where she will defend her points from last year's run.
