Mothers visit job centres on behalf of their adult children

Poland has the lowest unemployment rate in the EU, but Generation Z is struggling to enter the labour market. Agnieszka Kownacka of the district job centre in Poznań says parents are partly to blame, with some mothers even visiting job centres on behalf of their adult children. The phenomenon is described as "umbrella parenting" — overprotectiveness that stunts young people's independence.
