Szomburg: Poland must balance military security with economic development
Dr Jan Szomburg, co-founder of the Gdańsk Institute for Market Economics, argues Poland must simultaneously pursue three strategic directions: military anchoring in the US, deep integration in the European economy, and a regional arrangement with Scandinavia, the Baltic states, Ukraine and Romania. He warns that Europe operates under two distinct logics that Poland must reconcile. Without a coherent strategy, Poland risks falling behind the main current of European development.
