Spain relocates around 1,500 migrants from Ceuta beach to temporary shelters

Spanish authorities have cleared the El Trampolín beach in Ceuta, relocating around 1,500 migrants and asylum seekers to temporary shelters, according to official government figures. The large-scale operation follows a humanitarian crisis triggered when thousands of migrants crossed the border from Morocco on 30 and 31 July. Spain was forced to mount a rapid logistical and humanitarian response.
