California lawmakers adjust tax credit cap to help film industry

California lawmakers introduced a budget fix on Thursday that adjusts the state's cap on film and TV tax credits. The deal, first reported by Variety on Tuesday, falls short of the full carveout from a blanket $5 million annual cap that film and TV industry leaders had been seeking. The fix gives producers partial relief rather than a complete exemption.
