ChatGPT reported a user planning murder to police

ChatGPT alerted OpenAI staff to conversations with 25-year-old Darren Zhou, a former Goldman Sachs financial analyst, who was allegedly planning a murder. OpenAI then notified police, passing on the chatbot's analysis. This is one of the first known cases of an AI system independently flagging a threat to human supervisors and triggering a safety response.
