France, Germany, UK and Italy condemn Israel's E1 West Bank settlement project

France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Italy jointly condemned Israel's decision to open bidding for the E1 settlement project in the occupied West Bank on Thursday. The sprawling development, like all Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, is illegal under international law. Its construction would further sever Palestinian-majority east Jerusalem from the West Bank.
