US Education Dept recalculates PSLF payments, setting many borrowers back
The US Department of Education has recalculated qualifying payment counts for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness programme, leaving many borrowers further from debt cancellation than they had expected. Public sector workers who believed they were close to having their loans forgiven have been told they must continue making payments for longer. PSLF cancels remaining student debt after 10 years of public service employment and regular repayments.
