Record Danube clean-up: 135 tyres and half a tonne of scrap removed in one day
The Central Danube Valley Water Directorate (KDVVIZIG) announced a record single-day clean-up of the river on Thursday via Facebook. Workers removed 135 tyres, 500 kg of scrap metal and a large quantity of municipal waste from the Danube. It is the biggest daily waste-removal operation in the river authority's history.
