Polish government plans 30% corporate tax for energy firms, bypassing presidential veto
The Polish government plans to raise corporate income tax (CIT) for major energy and fuel companies from 19% to 30%, with the change set to take effect in 2027 and the rate declining in subsequent years. This is a new approach after President Karol Nawrocki referred a previous windfall-profits tax bill to the Constitutional Tribunal for pre-emptive review. The move is seen as an attempt to bypass the presidential objection.
