Spain creates shelters for 1,800 migrants in Ceuta to ease humanitarian crisis
The Spanish government announced the creation of shelters for 1,800 migrants in Ceuta to ease the humanitarian crisis following an unprecedented border crossing on 30–31 July, when about 72,000 people breached the border from Morocco. According to Spanish government figures, 70,000 of those migrants have since returned to Morocco. Several thousand remain in Ceuta and are in need of humanitarian assistance.
