'DAU' director hits back at Ukraine: film is not a tool of Russian state policy

Director Ilya Khrzhanovsky has pushed back against criticism of his film DAU from Ukraine's Ministry of Culture, denying that the production serves as an instrument of Russian state cultural policy. "DAU is not an instrument of Russian state cultural policy. It is an artistic statement about the nature of totalitarian evil," he said.
