Astronaut vest cuts radiation exposure in half during solar storms

Tests carried out on an uncrewed NASA mission showed that a protective vest can halve astronauts' exposure to cosmic radiation. The garment is designed to shield crew members from the worst effects of solar storms. The findings were published in the journal Nature.
