Expert: Government's tax changes are pre-election politics, not real relief
The Polish government is proposing tax changes designed to ease the burden on part of the middle class while raising costs for businesses. Cezary Szymanek, deputy editor-in-chief of "Rzeczpospolita", argues the proposals are driven primarily by political calculation ahead of the 2027 elections. In his view, the government is essentially redistributing the burden rather than reducing it.
