Siemoniak on ECtHR surveillance claims: Intelligence services don't judge court independence

Tomasz Siemoniak, Poland's minister coordinating the special services, responded to suggestions by Constitutional Tribunal president Bogdan Święczkowski that he had received information from "inside" the European Court of Human Rights via the ABW internal security agency. Siemoniak said no professional intelligence service is tasked with determining whether an institution qualifies as a court or is independent. The matter has raised questions about possible surveillance of European judicial bodies.
