Polish president doubts Berek's qualifications for Constitutional Tribunal
Presidential spokesman Rafał Leśkiewicz stated there are "serious doubts" about the formal qualifications of Maciej Berek, a close aide to Prime Minister Donald Tusk, as a candidate for the Constitutional Tribunal. Berek does not hold a habilitation degree and questions have been raised about whether he has practised as a legal counsel long enough. The president did not say directly whether he would swear Berek in if elected by the Sejm.
