Munich prosecutors identify 1970 Jewish community centre arsonist — but he died in 2020
Munich prosecutors and police have identified the man believed to have set the 1970 fire at a Jewish community centre and old people's home, which killed seven people. However, the suspect died in 2020, making prosecution impossible. The case, one of the most serious postwar antisemitic crimes in Germany, has now been formally closed.
