Polish schools face 17,000 vacancies ahead of the 2026/2027 school year

Polish schools reported 17,308 vacancies — equivalent to 11,732 full-time posts — ahead of the 2026/2027 school year, according to Ministry of Education data shared with PAP. Notably, not a single vacancy was recorded for health education teachers. The teacher shortage remains one of the main structural challenges facing the Polish education system.
