Phone scammers target seniors — 71-year-old loses 240,000 PLN overnight

Police are warning of a surge in phone scams targeting elderly people, in which fraudsters impersonate victims' relatives and use emotional pressure to extract life savings. In a recent case, a 71-year-old woman from Trzebnica county lost nearly 240,000 PLN in a single night. Police urge the public to alert elderly relatives to the danger.
