Poland's Justice Ministry plans electronic arrest bracelets to replace pre-trial detention

Poland's Ministry of Justice is drafting legislation to introduce electronic arrest bracelets as an alternative to pre-trial detention. The new rules are intended to curb the overuse of remand imprisonment in Poland and are expected to be ready by the end of the year. Electronic monitoring would be applied in cases where physical isolation is not deemed necessary.
