Google's PhotoScan estimates body fat from selfies more accurately than wearables
Google Research has developed PhotoScan, a system that estimates body composition and fat levels from smartphone photos with greater accuracy than wearables using bioelectrical impedance analysis. The tool could also be used to predict insulin resistance. The research comes as nearly 73% of American adults are classified as overweight or obese, according to the NIH.
