New CDC director vows to speak truth to power, including RFK Jr.
Erica Schwartz, the new director of the CDC, told agency staff on Wednesday she was prepared to disagree with administration leaders — including health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — to protect the agency's mission. She outlined three priorities: radical transparency and scientific rigour, strengthening disease-response capabilities, and rebuilding relationships with state and local partners.
