CJEU: banks' limitation period for CHF loan repayment claims starts when consumer first challenges the contract

The Court of Justice of the EU has ruled that EU law allows the limitation period for a bank's claim to recover a CHF mortgage loan to begin only on the day the consumer first challenges the binding nature of the contract's terms. The ruling has significant implications for the thousands of Swiss-franc mortgage cases ongoing in Poland.
