Czech court denies protection to Ukrainian who refused military service on moral grounds
A Czech court has rejected an asylum claim from a Ukrainian man who refused military service citing moral objections. Judge Jaroslava Krivánková ruled that conscription and mandatory military service are fundamental civic duties and do not on their own constitute grounds for international protection. The ruling may set a precedent for similar cases across Europe.
