Russians' faith in their country's future hits lowest level since early 1990s

A July survey by Russia's state polling institute WCIOM found that 66% of Russians believed their country faces "hard times" ahead — the lowest level of confidence in the country's future since the early 1990s. The finding reflects widespread public anxiety and a sense of insecurity among ordinary Russians. One respondent summed up the mood: "No one can feel safe."
