Trump's trade war agency has lost a fifth of its staff as workload balloons

The small US trade agency leading Trump's tariff war has shrunk to its smallest staff in two decades, losing roughly a fifth of its workforce. Despite this, it must handle new global tariffs, negotiations with dozens of countries, a renegotiation of the North American trade pact, and four new unfair-trade probes. Eleven former trade officials from both the Trump and Biden administrations said the pace and understaffing are leading to slapdash work.
